From the moment we arrived at Garragh Mhor we were overwhelmed by the hosts, Janet and Darren, as well as by the warm house and its location. As a bonus, the next morning we were able to enjoy a delicious and hearty breakfast. What more could you ask for? We were looking for somewhere to rest for a few days during our tour of Scotland, we couldn't have found a better place. Thank you Janet and Darren for your kindness and welcome. We will never forget our stay with you and the charming village of Ellenabeich and its one and only cosy pub ! - Lucie Aubin, Guy R
My partner, my daughter and son-in-law and I stayed at this lovely cottage on the Isle of Seil for 3 nights in early September.Jan and Daz were great hosts, the rooms were comfortable and the breakfasts they served were simply outstanding. The village of Ellenabeich is time warp from the 19th century with its whitewashed homes and the hike up Dunmore Hill worth the effort for the views. The Oyster Bar pub, a short walk away, serves a good pint and tasty meals. We did the Easdale Island boat trip and walk around the Island, steeped in the history of the slate mining.Oban is an easy drive to this scenic coastal town with the not to be missed tour of the distillery, and we can certainly recommend the EE-USK waterfront restaurant for its excellent seafood.Thank you Jan and Daz! - Chris F
We loved this stay! Jan was an incredible host, although we were disappointed that Daz was on a trip and we didn’t get to meet him. Maybe next time! The location was beautiful, the breakfasts were excellent, and the room was comfortable. The conversation was the best, though, and we thoroughly enjoyed the time we were able to spend with Jan.
